Camping Sunset is a Ghent-based theatre collective that was founded in 2018 by a group of recently graduated actors. The collective creates performances on location based on a love for acting and repertoire. The priority is the belief that the shared time with the audience is particularly valuable for the creation, which is why Camping Sunset plays for an audience after a mere two weeks of rehearsal. In their performances they strive for accessibility and inclusion so that every established or future theatre lover, and everyone in between, can feel welcome.
Camping Sunset always creates and performs in summer: on August 25, 2019 the players premiered the play Summerfolk by Maxim Gorky, in August 2020 they will start working with Happiness, a film script by Todd Solondz, in De Wasserij in Ghent, and in the summer of 2021 they plan the marathon performance Ten Oorlog, after the text of Tom Lanoye.
