This intriguing solo by Jan Martens is a danced portrait of Poland's Elisabeth Chojnacka (1939-2017), an exceptionally talented and passionate musician who was partly responsible for the revival of harpsichord music. ELISABETH GETS HER WAY pays tribute to this extraordinary woman. The solo is supported by docu-audio excerpts and a soundtrack that goes wide, from Nyman over Montague to Ligeti. Jan Martens is an extraordinary dancer who brings together different styles of movement, just as Chojnacka, with several centuries of music history at her fingertips, effortlessly jumped between registers and genres.
