This week, Samira Elagoz is back at CAMPO with Seek Bromance, a performance about the transformative relationship between two trans men with very different conceptions of what masculinity can be.

As a female artist, Samira Elagoz devoted years to filming and researching cis men. In his previous works, while still identifying as a woman, he examined cis men and the different forms of masculinity from an external position. His latest work Seek Bromance (2021) changes that viewpoint as Elagoz captured his own transition.

The performance won the Silver Lion at this year's Venice Biennale. "I wanted to create a work that I needed to see while struggling with my gender. A trans work where it is not about raising cis people, or justifying our existence or being a shining, positive example, but a real story, where the trans protagonists are complex and troubled, progressive and admirable, problematic and relatable. In which they are rebels, lovers and creators," Elagoz said.

The show is fully English spoken and has a duration of 220 minutes. To make the evening as comfortable as possible, it will be split into a first part of 2 hours and 10 minutes, followed by a short break with catering and the final part of 1 hour and 30 minutes. In the words of journalist Minou Norouzi (Hiff), "almost four hours, not a minute too long".
