Rabot II is a haunting docu-performance that builds on the performance/book Rabot 4-358 for which theatre-maker Simon Allemeersch set up his personal studio in one of the iconic residential towers of Ghent's Rabot district ten years ago. It became a reconstruction of the story of the buildings and their inhabitants.

Last year Allemeersch revisited the people of the time. In a video diary he collected testimonies. But he also zooms out thematically and examines the issues of private and public wealth. Starting from the Rabot neighborhood, he turns his gaze to other housing projects. Allemeersch tells a story at the intersection of architecture, urban development, history and design.

In Rabot II he combines live sound, documentation, music, theatre and video images into a crafted subjective documentary.

Simon Allemeersch is part of the Vooruit Stadsatelier and Lucinda Ra, a collective with Barbara and Stefanie Claes, and musicians Giovanni Barcella and Jeroen Van Herzeele.
