During Sc(è)ene #9, Nein presents two performances with a focus on the voice by international performers.

The Zangles are an international and colourful company of female artists, theatre makers and musicians, based in Antwerp. Three years and two shows after their beginning, they are getting ready for their next show! Prepare yourself for nine female egos with big ideas and small voices, combining their passion for singing: will it be a musical? Will it be a raffle? Nobody knows! One thing is certain: it will be much fuss about nothing.

Stina Fors (1989, Sweden) is a choreographer, performer, drummer and singer. With her one-woman-punk-band she explores her love for music and singing through a repertoire of solo performances. In the performance A Mouthful of Tongues, the mouth becomes the theatre. Experimental vocal techniques such as growling, ventriloquism, tonque workouts, dinosaur sounds and more create a journey where many bodies and sounds are brought into dissociative relations. Expect a performance that celebrates the mouth as a powerful channel through which communication can be formed, expressed, distorted, destroyed and brought back to life. We hear fragmented stories, thoughts and emotions from other places, franzied landscapes – from something that sounds like English but is not.

This performance is part of the two-day minifestival Howling Days at CAMPO victoria and Kunsthal Gent where various falsets of the voice take the lead role, with Colin Self, Mirabella paidamoyo dziruni, Hyeji Nam, MSTEAZAH and Enesi M in addition to Stina Fors and The Zangles.
