Ways To Submit invites members of the audience to have a physical fight. Using this simple frame, it creates a series of complex, slippery exchanges, opening out beyond the space of the theatre to evoke questions about witnessing, participation, gender, power, and pleasure. It is different each night, a provocative and playful reflection of who is in the room and everything we bring with us.
How do we act? What do we want to see? What might we learn? And what does it take for something truly unexpected to happen? Ways To Submit tries to understand the body – and the performance space – as a site of resistance and a site of succumbing.
