Absurd, sharp and unmistakably feminist

In the sparkling and feminist solo Ostentation, Sophia Rodriguez plays with images of the female body. She peels away layer after layer, exaggerates clichés, and turns them on their head. Rodriguez switches effortlessly between absurd exaggeration and razor-sharp observations. Whether she is dressed in colorful costumes, balancing on a trapeze, or surrounded by plastic, she invites the audience to participate in a penetrating game in which the boundaries between “being” and “representing” are constantly shifting.
