No business as usual: cultural boycott of Israel
Together with more than 875 Dutch and Belgian artists and nearly 300 cultural institutions, we are proceeding with a boycott of Israel. They no longer wish to remain on the sidelines of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and a genocide recognized by all authoritative institutions against the Palestinian people.
What does the cultural boycott entail?
Artists and institutions participating:
- Publicly state: we support the boycott
- Do not (no longer) participate in art projects funded by the Israeli state (or complicit organizations)
- Do not enter into new collaborations with such parties
- Do not engage in practices that treat Israeli and Palestinian perspectives as ‘equal’ without addressing the history of injustice and oppression.
The boycott is aimed at the Israeli state and all Israeli institutions and companies. Excluded are organizations that are not complicit in violations of international law and have unequivocally spoken out against genocide, illegal occupation, and apartheid. The boycott is explicitly not aimed at individuals or their backgrounds, thus not at Israelis as such, but at the complicity of Israeli institutions and companies in the human rights violations against the Palestinians.
