Anna Franziska Jäger (1996, Brussels) is a performance artist and actress. She graduated from the Drama programme at KASK Ghent in 2020. Since then, she has been working closely with Nathan Ooms, with whom she has created the performances Bartlebabe (2020), The Honey House (2021), Ambient Theatre Fury (2022), DONKEY (2023), and Modesta (2024). In these works, they bring together theatre, performance, and choreography according to their own poetics. Their work follows their shared fascination with the often elusive effects of digital technology on our language, thinking, and lives; their work both imagines and embodies these influences.
As a performer she has worked, among others, with Rosie Sommers and Micha Goldberg, Carly Rae Heathcote, tibaldus, Michiel Vandevelde, Hannah De Meyer, tgStan, and Sophia Rodriguez. She starred in films such as My Queen Karo (2009) by Dorothée Van Den Berghe and Cleo (2019) by Eva Cools. She was involved in the founding of the performance platform Ne mosquito pas and regularly performs in Simon Van Schuylenberghs' cabaret Anal Pompidou. She has worked as a guest teacher and mentor at different theatre schools, as a dramaturg, and as a writer for journals like Etcetera and Sabzian.
Nathan Ooms (1996, he/him) obtained his master's degree in Drama from KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent in 2019. During these studies, he did an Erasmus exchange at the Academy for Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. Afterwards, he followed STUDIOS, the Masters programme in choreography at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels, where he graduated with The Honey House in 2021. Together with Anna Franziska Jäger, he created the performances DONKEY (2023), Ambient Theatre Fury (2022) and Bartlebabe (2021), among others. Nathan did an internship with Ula Sickle where he collaborated on the performance Relay (2018) and featured in Marc Vanrunxt's performances Drawings (2019) and Hyena Hyena (2023). He also performed in performances by Rosie Sommers, Ezra Veldhuis & Bosse Provoost and Lydia McGlinchey. He is part of the performance platform Ne mosquito pas.
Modesta (play of language and lips), the first group performance of Anna Franziska & Nathan, premiered in October 2024.
