A cartoonish world filled with slapstick, clowning, and absurd twists

A huff and a puff (and I blow your house in) is the new performance by Jef Van der Burght, Senne Vanderschelden & Marius Lefever under the collective Three is a crowd. Starting from the classic fairy tale The Three Little Pigs, they construct a cartoonish world filled with slapstick, clowning, and absurd twists. This light-hearted playfulness is intersected by the dark, suggestive atmospheres of film noir.

On an abandoned film set, three lost performers take the reins—sometimes quite literally. The cameras have disappeared, the spotlights are extinguished, and the sets have tilted and been blown over. A storm has raged. Amid the wreckage stands a billboard bearing only two words: THE END. With these “final” words, the performance begins.

With humor, imagination, and physical precision, the performers search for footing in a world that rages relentlessly and remains unfathomable. The result is a performance about human resilience, in which light and darkness, hope and adversity are intertwined in a single whimsical movement.
