Galactic Crush 2: Into the Cold

Stephanie Kayal & Abed Kobeissy
Wed 9 Dec 20:30

A space odyssey about love, failure, and the longing to escape a world in ruins

Discover the work of Stephanie Kayal, choreographer and performer, and Abed Kobeissy, musician. They are an artistic duo from Beirut — and the anti-heroes of the sci-fi saga Galactic Crush.

In this new piece, the duo has botched their quixotic mission and faces a world that is crumbling around them. With nothing left to lose, they decide to flee: they build a DIY intergalactic spaceship and set off in search of hope in another galaxy.

The failed crime-fighters, who are also friends and lovers, confront an absurd reality with dark humour. In the cold of space, they recall the fractured city they left behind and the loved ones who remain far away, hoping to understand and forgive the world’s failures. They dance as a reminder of home.
