In Pursuit Of A Wonderful Nothing (try-out)

Kim Noble / CAMPO
Tue 29 Sep - Fri 2 Oct

Not an ordinary book launch. Expect Kim Noble.

In 2010 Kim Noble started to write a book: a true love story about falling in love with someone that did not exist. The book has morphed and changed, has been rejected, abandoned, rewritten and eaten. And now it has soon to reach its tragic ending: publication. Perhaps it will even be read.

Alongside the launch of his book, Kim Noble will present a lecture about writing, books and words, that may help you with your own book, or an e-mail or a message to a loved one. As well as writing his own ‘magnum opus’ over the years, Kim Noble has been changing and amending other people’s books. This presentation will be a culmination of this process, where Noble attempts to make ‘a user’s guide to the written word’ taking advice from writers throughout the ages.

Finally, you will get answers about what words should be written down, and urgent issues like how to eat a book, or how not to write a novel. And how to read.

Duration: TBA
Language: In English (without surtitles)

The book In Pursuit Of A Wonderful Nothing is a fragmented odyssey of artistic survival and longing. Reconstructed through hand-drawn illustrations, artefacts, photographs, cult performance, and autobiography, it traces the journey through the everyday theatre of Kim Noble’s life. As his art world escapades spiral from a gallery in Helsinki to hardware stores in London and a desolate English beach, romance fizzes and reality unravels.
