How do you still make an artistic statement in a world saturated with data?

Statements School is an intense work week where graduating makers from three arts schools join forces with twelve experienced artists from various disciplines. Working side by side with writers, visual artists, and performing artists, the students explore a central question: what does it mean to make an artistic statement in this day and age?

The focus lies on the transition from school to the professional field. In a world of overwhelming information flows, participants search for their own artistic language and identity. How do you develop your voice as an emerging artist, and how do you translate your artistic points of view into a discourse and practice?

Over the course of five days, the young makers get an up-close look at the methods, sources of inspiration, and inevitable doubts of their experienced colleagues. Each day concludes with a collective evening program, ranging from discussions and performance visits in Ghent to potential performances at CAMPO CABARET.
